My neighbor heard good things about this nursery, so we "had" to stop by today. It's got great prices, the plants look great and the person who helped us, Tim, seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. It appears to be a small, family run business. They don't have a huge selection of plants less than Wojack's or South Brevard Nursery, but it's definitely worth checking out, especially if you are in the area.

It's on US1 in Palm Shores. It's north of Post Road, and south of the Pineda Causeway. The man who helped us is Tim Fish. He happens to participate in salt water fishing tournaments. Sylvia, I got a Xanadu philodendron and a jatropha. My neighbor got 3 Xanadu's.

Everything looks great. I live at Pineda and Wickham, so not too far away from the nursery, I know your schedule is very busy, but if you ever want a garden tour, please let me know.

Lynne, I will have to check it out. Did you find lots of goodies? Like Save. Related Discussions Curb Appeal Q. I hope you can remove the black concrete or whatever it is so you can do some planting on the entire left side of the porch. If so then I would plant an Alberta Spruce under each window with a semi-circle around each spruce with 3 or 5 Stella d'oro yellow plants.

In front of the screening on each sides of the steps, you can plant a globe blue spruce with a red "dwarf red barberry bush on each side of it. I like picking up the red in this bush to go with your wonderful red front door.

If the Globe blue spruce is too expensive for you, replace that idea with a regular size red barberry with Little Gem Norway spruce on each side of it. If the side of the porch is exposed to the driveway, I would plant several "Double knock out roses" which are trouble free and bloom probably 5 months.

Good Luck, Linda. Need paint ideas for our baby girl's nursery Q. Thanks for all of the great suggestions! Keep them coming! Wish Decor, I absolutely love that picture and am leaning towards that. I wanted to stay away from the chocolate browns, for fear of it making the room too dark though we do have two side-by-side windows in that room , but with the lighter color below the chair rail, that is perfect!

I'm wondering if it matters if that lighter color is more of an ivory like the Oyster, which I'm guessing is with having the white furniture--are those colors too close to not have them be the same? Gingerclaire, that is another great tip, too--as she gets older, I'm sure we will find lots of "personal artwork" making it's way onto those walls, unfortunately. And, to answer some other questions--yes, decorating the nursery is in fact all about the parents obviously!

It is no different than another room in your house that you take pride in and want to look aesthetically appealing. On that same note, I want it to create a calm atmosphere where my baby will rest comfortably. Curb Appeal Q. Hi, I agree - don't till the soil until you take care of the problems there with whatever you can use in your area. As for the plantings - you can always reuse all that is there by moving it forward or over to the fence and doing larger shrubs in the background close to the house.

The existing shrubs need some work - clip them back to give a nice manicured look. Add in some colourful shrubs from your nursery and of course some annuals and perennials for colour.Use a hose laid on the ground to get the new shape of your planting area - a nice undulating curve because the house is so boxy - add lots of good top soil and aged manure to feed your plants and then some mulch and a few well placed rocks or boulders that you can find in the wild or at the nursery.

I'd take the trellis down and move it possible to the side of the house. You can add to the garden over the years so that you don't blow your budget all this year. I would add a nice tree to the front as well - something that won't grow too tall and has good colour as well - again the nursery staff can give you some ideas as to what would grow well in your area. Good luck and post some pictures as you work at this project! Landscaping and curb appeal help Q.

A kind word for the maple being attacked on all sides - it partially blocks your view of the street! It appears that you do not have room for a plant screen on the right, if that is their doorway to the back yard - so - either enjoy her perennials, her car, and all her frontyard activity, or install a screen fence, what ever height is permitted by the City. However, you may not be able to get out of the door of your car with the fence so close to the drive.

The key to success in your front yard will be a nice deck to match the colors at the house , built at ground level adjacent to that handsome row of tall evergreens, with lighting, colorful plants in terracotta pots, comfortable seating, perhaps with a deciduous filter on the street side, perhaps not, lilacs would add fragrance.

I can't wait to stop over for coffee out there. Be sure to check with the City on what you can build in your front yard. Take your time and get it right. Related Stories.
